    <title>Coming to grips with the more intangible changes</title>

      This afternoon I spent some time with my client thinking about how we can increase the behaviour of giving feedback (praise and suggestions for improvement) in their organisation. Like many organisations many of their managers just assume their staff know they are valued and are doing a good job.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
But when we started to think about the measurable results it was hard to conceive how what is measured via the staff engagement survey could be traced back to increased and better feedback. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I did think of suggesting &amp;lt;a href=&amp;quot;http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Most_significant_change&amp;quot;&amp;gt;Most Significant Change&amp;lt;/a&amp;gt; as an evaluation technique but wondered whether people would recount significant stories of feedback. I thought the domain might be too narrow.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I remember in Influencer you touch on this very issue of people not giving feedback and I would love to hear your thoughts on the type of measurable results that might be targeted.

    <title>Vital behaviours for communities of practice</title>

       Over at the  Influencer blog  David Maxfield has  written a four post series  on improving teamwork based on one of the key insights from his co-authored book, also called  Influencer , which is simply changing a few behaviours can drive a lot of change. 

... While I think these vital behaviours are important I think we need to be mindful of the variety of orientations a community of practice might adopt of just find the orientation has emerged because there are likely to be vital behaviours for each one.
